Asano Paper Moon #05

Handmade in the Gifu prefecture of Japan for 90 years, this rice paper table lighting- designed by Shigeru Uchida in 1990- speaks softly with its halcyon shape and warm diffusion. Asano delicately handcrafts each lamp using high grade Washi paper and a spiral rib of bamboo. The process involves wrapping the bamboo around wooden forms and then glueing and applying each panel separately until the entire surface has been papered.
