With Canada Day and the summer holidays fast approaching, we can't help but think about the sublime beauty of this land we call home. Years ago we traveled from coast to coast and had the privilege of acquaintance with majestic mountains, rolling prairies, forested valleys, rivers, and lakes. From jagged ocean shores to gently blowing grasses and grains, we were struck by the rich diversity of the landscape, its fragility, interdependence, and history. These places have drawn us back, with each sojourn resulting in a deeper connection, respect, and friendship for the land and its people.
This summer at Bloomfields our theme is the Canadian Roadtrip - an exploration and celebration of Canadian nature - beginning in our backyards and beyond. Striking floral designs will incorporate tucks of native grasses, greens, and blooms. Mineral specimens and driftwood will adorn our tables and vintage maps will be on display at both shops.
We are closed Friday to Monday this week for Canada Day- so please place any orders for the weekend by Wednesday. Next week we begin our seasonal hours, and the doors will be open Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10 to 5, ready to welcome you and share summer stories of adventure.
We hope everyone has a chance to experience an exceptional summer here at home and across this great country. Oh, Canada!
